Moon Manifestation: New Moon in Leo
As of 1:55 pm EST time today, we once again join the moon on renewing it’s monthly dance through the skies; embarking on a journey from darkness, to light, and back again. This month’s lunar journey begins entering in Leo, which empowers this particular new moon with the larger than life confident energy the zodiac sign is known for.
As we discussed in our previous post August 2022 Moon Manifestation: "Let's Get That Bread", this month we are going to be delving into each moon phase and utilizing their unique energies in our kitchen to heighten our workings with the goal of prosperity in mind.
Setting Intentions
New moons are about beginnings and this new moon in Leo is an exceptional time to begin examining what your passions truly are and forging ahead on making them into a prosperous reality in your life. Perhaps you have a hobby that you love but are afraid of trying to make into something more. Maybe the excitement you once had for the career you have now is gone and you are struggling with the idea to either revitalize it or look towards different horizons. Leo is all about enjoying every morsel of life that we have and charging forward through fears or doubts to do so.
With this in mind, here are a few affirmations you can use in the month ahead to set your intentions on what you’d like your workings to focus on.
I am a courageous being, full of life and love, and I forge my path ahead towards happiness and success.
My passions set alight the fire within me and I use that fire to light my way toward joy and prosperity.
I am the leader of my own life and will march proudly and confidently towards all the rewards I have worked hard for.
My determination and drive to succeed cannot be tamed and will lead me to a life full of prosperity.
New Moon Kitchen Ritual: Green Goddess Zucchini Boats with Herbed Couscous
Now that we have set our sights on what we want to manifest this month, let’s start creating some magic to get it rolling! We are going to be creating an incredible quick and simple to put together dish that encapsulates all things prosperity and success, with assistance of color magic and a nod to the feminine lunar energy with are working with: Green Goddess Zucchini Boats with Herbed Couscous.
The term “Green Goddess” is often seen in regards to an herbaceous, green hued salad dressing that was popularized in San Francisco in the 1920’s. Much like the dressing, our dish is full of fresh herbs that will help bolster our intentions and refresh our perspective. The color green is primarily associated with wealth and success and we are utilizing ingredients of this color throughout our new moon ritual meal to boost our prosperity workings. Below are some associations we have for some of the main ingredients we’ve chosen for the dish:
Zucchini: Anyone who has ever grown zucchini can tell you that when this plant likes where it is placed in the garden, it is the poster child for abundance! We are using this member of the summer squash family not only as our vessel for the other ingredients in the dish, but for it’s ability to assist in yielding positive results for our workings.
Spinach: I absolutely love the tender, but subtle bitterness of spinach and enjoy using it in this dish not only for it’s extra flavor but for a bit of bulk in the dish. Intentionally, spinach is marvelous to use when you are looking for extra strength and confidence in the spheres of business or finances. It is especially good to eat for to boost courage when going to business meetings or endeavors.
Ground Turkey: Super lean and easily accessible, ground turkey is a champ when it comes to adding healthy protein into your meals. The reason I chose it for this particular dish is due to my association with turkey and celebrations. The idea here is that we are harkening back to the confident qualities of Leo and using the addition of the turkey to celebrate our successes while we are actively working on manifesting them.
Cream Cheese: Often featured on your morning bagel, this tangy soft cheese is acting as a source of richness and a binder for our other filling ingredients in our zucchini boats. As with most dairy products, I associate cream cheese with opulence, wealth, and assistance in goals coming to fruition.
Couscous: Similar to Italian pasta but originating in Africa, couscous is made from rolled durum wheat semolina and makes for a quick and satisfying side dish to our zucchini boats. Being that it is a product made from life sustaining wheat, it is heavily associated with abundance and prosperity.
Hot Tip: Channel your inner Leo
As with any ritual, to get the most magickal bang for your buck, you will want to be in the right headspace. We can pull from that exuberant Leo energy to help us enjoy every bit of this new moon working. We suggest grounding and centering yourself before you begin, cleansing yourself and your space, and keeping your intentions clear in your mind as you cook. Beyond that, set up your kitchen in a way that puts you into a great, energized mood. Put on your favorite music or podcast, light a beautiful candle or incense, and enjoy the time you have set out for yourself not only to nourish your physical body but your spiritual one as well. You deserve it!
