August 2022 Moon Manifestation: “Let’s Get That Bread”

With the new moon rapidly approaching, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce and inaugurate our new monthly blog topic that centers on harnessing the unique energy of each of the four quarters of the moon. Each month, we will choose an intention to focus on and offer recipes to designed to enhance your magical workings at each of the four phases.

What energies do each of the moon phases assist with?

As I said before, as the moon completes it’s monthly dance across the sky, each of it’s beautiful phases offer us the chance to draw different energies. While in total there are eight phases, we are focusing on the “big four” so to speak; New, First Quarter, Full, Last Quarter. Below is a brief summery of what we energies each phase is important for:

New Moon: As the beginning of the monthly lunar cycle, the new moon is all about setting fresh intentions for the month ahead of you. It is a time to take stock of what energies you want or need most in your life and plant the seeds of intention for them.

First Quarter: Also known as a Waxing Quarter, this phase about taking action. As with anything you strive for in life, you gotta work for it! This is the time when you put in the real labor to bring your goals to fruition. It can be a strenuous and emotional time for certain, however the rewards are worth it.

Full Moon: The moon is in now illuminating at it’s fullest capacity and it is shedding light on all you’ve accomplished throughout your journey so far. It is a time to celebrate your hard work getting here and cast out any emotions or actions that no longer serve you to make room for the blessings you strived for.

Last Quarter: Also known as a Waning or Third Quarter, you can take this time to reflect on what lessons this month’s journey has taught you and give gratitude for all of these lessons. It is also a great time to perform some shadow work to help you break down any barriers that block you from receiving any positives in your life.

August 2022 Intentional Focus: Prosperity

For this month, we decided to focus our intention on drawing more prosperity into our lives. We chose this intention specifically to synergize with the upcoming sabbat of Lughnasadh, which is a celebration centering on the beginning of the prosperous harvest season. We are about to embark on a time when we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor from the spring and summer months. This could be meant very literally in the sense that our physical gardens are about to start giving up their bounties to us, but it could be looked at from the prospective of our “spiritual gardens” as well. Lughnasadh is also a sabbat where bread is baked as part of ritual and used as an offering. Bread is often a symbol of abundance and prosperity, so much so that in modern terminology we call striving for wealth “Getting That Bread”. In the spirit of that sentiment, we are going to be featuring recipes over the next month that will focus on helping you boost your workings in many facets of prosperity, such as:

  • Money Drawing/ Financial Stability

  • Success in Business/Career Fulfillment

  • Increasing Positive Opportunities

  • Cleansing of Negative Blockages

  • Celebrating Abundance

This month the phases fall on the following days, so be on the look out for our posts for them!

New Moon: 7/28

First Quarter: 8/5

Full Moon: 8/12

Last Quarter: 8/19
