Hello again, my lovelies and welcome to September! I don’t now about anyone else, but I am so excited for the upcoming autumn season, however the weather where I am is still firmly holding on to summer for a little while longer. This transition from late summer into early fall is actually a lovely time though. We are still afforded an extra bit of light at the end of the day and the temperatures are starting to get more manageable too; this allows us the opportunity to enjoy the nights after our busy days and hopefully share them with someone we love.

That lovin’ feeling

I think it is fairly common in the hustle and bustle of our lives to feel like we are constantly performing a balancing act. There is so much that life throws at us to juggle and on top of that, each one of us has a unique set of personal responsibilities to manage. If you are in a relationship, these responsibilities are effectively doubled. Sometimes this results in having far less energy and time to devote to romance.

Being that most of us already budget in time each day for cooking meals, utilizing ingredients that hold energy for love spellwork is a wonderful way to infuse extra romantic intention into your foods. Luckily, there are a bunch of common ingredients that work well for this intention that are readily available at your local market. Below you’ll find a quick guide with a few of our favorite tips to help you boost that loving feeling in your own cooking.

Vegetables: Vegetables in general are a excellent category of ingredients to draw from when looking to amp up your love spellwork because of their heavy association with vitality and abundance. Zucchini and many other members of the squash family are champs when it comes to charging your meals with loving intention. Many varieties hold particularly strong energy in the realms of spellwork focused on fertility and sexuality as well as amplifying the deep spiritual and romantic connection you and your partner share. Another vegetable you might not automatically assume is great for romance, asparagus is actually linked with the Greek goddess of love herself, Aphrodite. Due to this association, it is used in drawing more love into your life and also holds powerful energy for increasing virility in men. Tomatoes, avocados, peppers, sweet potatoes, and greens of all types also lend helpful energy to your love spellwork.

Fruits: Being that fruits are the seed bearing part of plants, the entire family is deeply associated with the realms of love, relationship, and sex magic. You can utilize many fruits in both sweet and savory kitchen applications, which makes them a very versatile tool in your spellwork arsenal. Fruits such as apples, oranges, peaches, and apricots to me personally hold intentional energy for when you are looking to capture the sweeter aspects of love magic, such as the innocence of new love, the beauty of long term romance, and strengthening and deepening bonds. However, if you are looking to expand upon the spicier side of your relationship, try incorporating mango, cherries, grapes, strawberries and bananas into your spellwork repertoire, as these fruits help to boost sexual energy.

Vinegars: Vinegars are superstars when it comes to being an all purpose ingredient in your kitchen and this includes kitchen spellwork. While each type holds slightly different intentional energy, most varieties are associated with beauty, fertility, and abundance. Our personal recommendations for vinegars that are specific towards love spellwork are apple cider, champagne, balsamic, malt, and red or white wine vinegars.

Cooking oils/butter: Another category where you can play around with different energies is cooking oils. You can find an increasingly vast amount of different varieties of oils in your local supermarket and many of them are valuable for use in your kitchen spellwork. In the realm of love workings, my personal favorite cooking oils to use are olive, avocado, coconut, and butter as each of these hold powerful associations towards beauty, fertility, abundance and love. A couple of notes to remember however when using different oils. First, be sure to keep in mind the smoke point of oils when choosing them as it varies from each type. For example, if you are making a dish that requires a higher heat such as roasting or frying, you may want to stick with an avocado, olive, sunflower or grapeseed oil as they have a much higher smoke point than a butter, coconut, or walnut oil will. Secondly, you do want to strive to use a less processed oil where you can as the more processed any food is, the less potent it will be in your spellwork.
