A Witch’s Guide to Homemade Gifts

Welcome to December, my witchy lovelies! The holiday season is quickly approaching and for many of us, this means plotting out gift ideas. If you’re anything like me, sometimes you need a little bit of inspiration when it comes to giving gifts; perhaps you have people who are difficult to shop for or maybe you just want something with a little extra intentional touch. I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to write up a quick and handy guide to creating your own handmade, customized items that every person on your list will adore.

Why Homemade?

There is a thought process that making your own handmade gifts might not be feasible, effective, or even desirable to some. I totally understand the draw of the ease and convenience of modern online shopping and I also don’t discount how busy we all get around this time of year, but I have found that there are quite a few unique advantages to creating your own gifts. Below are some of my top reasons to give homemade a chance!

Affordability: I think we all feel the sting of climbing costs at some point during this time of year and it can get really stressful watching the numbers add up. I have found that in general, purchasing raw materials for making my own versions of items is far more cost effective in the long run and allows me to take advantage of spreading out my purchases over a longer period of months, so the bill at the end of the year isn’t as shocking!

Versatility: Perhaps my favorite reason to make my own gifts for friends and family is how creative it allows me to get. There are so many different combinations of flavors and intentions that you can play with when you make your own items. Being able to take advantage of all the season has to offer flavor wise, while also completely tailoring the gift to the person i’m giving it to is a win win to me.

Ease: While not every homemade gift may not be quick or easy to make, our goal with the gift ideas that we will be offering is that they are super simple to create and will only take a few hours to complete a bunch of them, so you have more time to enjoy the season. I personally love to have some homemade items on hand, whether it’s for last minute gifting or for adding a personal touch to larger gift baskets or boxes. Lastly, most of the gift ideas we will be offering will keep for quite awhile if stored properly, so you can make them and gift them throughout the entire year!

Stay tuned over the next week for some fun posts on a bunch of homemade holiday gifting ideas!
